Question: What mission work is your church involved in?
Answer: The Sandpoint church of Christ has a strong sense of vision for sending the gospel into those areas of the world where it has not been readily available and where hearts are open. In following the pattern of the first-century church as shown in the book of Acts, we feel a strong sense of obligation to send the gospel to "those who are far off" as well as to "those who are near". Since 1998, we have been involved in spreading the gospel and planting churches in China, where the gospel is spreading rapidly and hearts are open. Once or twice each year we send folks to plant and water the seed of God's word in various areas of China. We encourage members to get involved through prayer and preparing themselves to go on a short-term mission trip. Since our first trip, we have planted two churches and we are currently working in a third city to establish a church there. As Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Lk 10.2)
